Celebrating 400 Years

Happy February!

More than 550 people registered to attend our Kickoff & Reveal event on January 6th, the house was packed at the Seacoast Rep for the Set The House on Fire Gospel Choir concert on January 16th, and the 101 Objects Speaker Series launched with a large and enthralled crowed at the Library on January 24th. The community response to the opening events of the year of our 400th Anniversary has been overwhelming. Thank you!

We look forward to seeing more of you at the 100+ events planned over the year. While February and March have fewer events, hold onto your (PNH400) hats for what's on deck for the rest of the year!

A History of Portsmouth NH in 101 Objects Speaker Series

Portsmouth Public Library, Open and Free to the Public

In commemoration of Black History Month, the “A History of Portsmouth NH in 101 Objects” Speaker Series will partner with the Portsmouth Meaningful Conversations group for a unique opportunity to discuss the history of Portsmouth as it relates to Black History.

*NOTE: The event date was moved from February 14th to the 28th.

The calendars, license plates, tee shirts, wine glasses, and 101 Objects books can be ordered online and reserved for pick up at the Chamber Collaborative of Greater Portsmouth located at 500 Market Street, incurring no shipping charges. They can also be purchased at the Chamber (credit/debit only). All other items for sale online at PortsmouthNH400.org are custom orders and will be shipped directly from the custom design house.

The 2023 Official Calendar and 101 Objects books are available for purchase at Local Anchor, a new shop at 62 Market Street (between the GasLight and the Portsmouth Brewery). The 101 Objects books can be purchased at RiverRun Bookstore located at 32 Daniel Street.

Limited supply of calendars left—get these 2023 legacy pieces while you can.

The DMV has given permission for NH vehicles to substitute the PNH400 plate for their front license plate from January 1 through December 31, 2023 in support of Portsmouth's 400th. The State Police and NH Police stations have been notified of this approval.
