Commerce & Trade

I am co-chair of the Trade and Commerce Pillar. Working for the oldest bank in downtown Portsmouth, it only made sense to co-chair this committee. I am the sixth generation of Wheelers to call the Seacoast home and wouldn’t have it any other way. ~Ben Wheeler, Vice President / Business Development Officer, Piscataqua Savings Bank

I work at the Chamber Collaborative of Greater Portsmouth and have called Portsmouth my home for the past six years. I co-lead the Commerce and Trade Pillar with Ben Wheeler. Portsmouth was founded as a port, one of the key commerce centers of the region. I am excited to explore that history and share it with the community. Ben and I are also excited to work with many of our business leaders and explore ways we can partner. Community & Neighborhoods

I have been living in Portsmouth, NH since 2000. In 2015, I opened PortCity Bike Tours after falling in love with the city’s history and historic preservation. During my quest to provide the most accurate and interesting historic bike tours, I immersed myself in Portsmouth history. In fact, the bike tour shop is located at the Historic John Paul Jones Carriage House, often sharing the less famous quote, “I have not yet begun to bike” instead of fight!

I am meeting so many wonderful people and learning so much being on the Community and Neighborhood Pillar. Portsmouth is about community and taking care of each other and this remarkable city. ~Dawn Przychodzien, Owner, PortCity Bike Tours

Maritime & Military

My name is Cathy Reddington and I live in Rye. I have lived in the Seacoast area for over 30 years. I became involved in the planning of the Portsmouth NH 400 as a means of giving back to the community that has given me and my family so much over the years.

From my husband's childhood growing up in Greenland, to my daughter’s participation in theater, performance arts, and each of their respective first jobs, to owning my own retail business for the past 12 years, the city has enriched our family in incalculable ways. Specifically, the Maritime and Military Pillar appealed to me because I wanted to honor my family's long history of military service and I absolutely love and appreciate living near the water. This is a way to share all that Portsmouth has to offer with others who feel the same, as well as those who are new to the area. I can't wait for the festivities to begin! ~ Cathy Reddington

Signature Events

I am a life-long NH Seacoast resident and have been a resident of Portsmouth for 22 years. Signature Events for Portsmouth NH 400 are three events during the year of our 400th birthday, that highlight the significance of the milestone. I volunteered to be the leader of Signature Events because I love Portsmouth and wanted to be part of the planning for its significant birthday. ~ Beth Moreau, Owner, Great Oak Title Services

Legacy Projects

I moved to Portsmouth in 1984 by accident when a van pool facilitating my commute to Boston opened up here. Since then, I have grown to love this city. When I retired from Northern Essex Community College in the spring after a long career as Director of Public Relations, I welcomed the opportunity to get involved with PNH400. Chairing the Legacy Committee tasked with creating projects that will last well beyond 2023 has been rewarding and exciting. I’ve learned so much working with talented people like Valerie Rochon and Susan Labrie and from the members of my committee, Nancy London, Barbara Massar, and Judy Miller. Our goal is to create a maritime-themed sculpture garden in the city’s Bohenko Gateway Park. We imagine that this will be a beautiful spot, welcoming visitors to the city and providing a quiet oasis for local residents! ~Ernie Greenslade

We’ve Hit the Ground Running

Thank you to the following local businesses for sponsoring the 2022 Seacoast Half Marathon. We are this year’s beneficiary of this incredible 13.1-mile “Run Through History” and are grateful for the support!

I love the Seacoast Lifestyle and am committed to improving quality of life here by supporting local events and programs such as Seacoast Half Marathon and Portsmouth NH 400. Though I’ve retired the running sneakers of my twenties, wellness and fitness underpin most of my hobbies, which include hiking, skiing and tennis. I recently earned my 500-hour yoga teacher certification to hone my personal practice and share my love of wellness through volunteering in my community.

We are thrilled to support Seacoast Half Marathon and the Celebration for Portsmouth NH 400thanniversary in 2023 and look forward to providing any support we can to our community with quality electrical products and services.

Supporting SHM and PNH400 was an easy choice for us because not only do we work in the community, but we enjoy local events as a team as often as we are able. We are happy to lend our support and look forward to seeing this project come to fruition!
