Portsmouth NH 400th, Inc. Announces CSX as Significant Community Sponsor

CSX is a significant sponsor of the Portsmouth NH 400 commemorations. 

Portsmouth, New Hampshire (October 7, 2023) – The Portsmouth NH 400th (PNH400) Management Team is delighted to announce that CSX, one of the nation’s leading transportation suppliers and has made a significant financial commitment to be a PNH 400th Anniversary community sponsor. CSX acquired Pan Am Railways in June 2022 and has worked at becoming an integral part of the community since then.

“With this generous donation and the company’s 200-year record as a foundational engine of our nation’s history, CSX embodies the PNH400 motto ‘History Lights Our Way.’ CSX is showing the way for others to demonstrate their community spirit,” said PNH400 Managing Director Valerie Rochon. Community Engagement Officer Susan Labrie explained that the CSX commitment of $15,000 enables operational support to advance PNH400 events in 2023 including helping to make The Great Portsmouth NH 400 Community Picnic free for the Portsmouth community.

The Portsmouth NH 400th tradition of providing accessible programming for everyone to experience the city’s culture is vital to that history and we are honored to play a role in continuing that effort.”
